Pulse
By Arnis Aleinikovas
2021
Performative streamed film
Pulse reflects on sexual assault and rape on men and women, focusing on the aftermath of these traumatic experiences and the strong need and lack of care, trust, and sense of belonging.
Pulse was originally intended to be an alternative theater performance, to be presented in a theater space in front of a live audience. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, its production was changed to present it on digital platforms. The performance was filmed and edited, and later streamed in front of an audience, at first to be watched by people confined at home, and later projected in theaters.
